take away all civil rights for Germans. Peter wasn't able to Go to the movies, the park, play on the
playground Peter was banned from all things to entertain him , He wasn't allowed to go on
trains/buses, have any pets, and had to wear a yellow star, and couldn't take off the yellow star.
Peter Berlowitz father left Peter, and his mother. Peter and his mother had only each other. When
Peter became four his mother thought he was able to stay by himself while she she works. Peter
mom would tell him what to do and Peter would do it. He would take a nap when he had to, eat, or
even when to play.
June 1943, The Nazi Gestapo arrested Peter and his mother. They deported both of them along with
150 other Berlin, and Jews. They sent them all to the Terezin Concentration Camp. After 2 days and
nights with no food/water in a cattle, Peter along with his mother and others, arrived at Tezerin. Peter
was put in the children section and hiss mother was placed in the adult section were they had to build
crops and work as slaves. When peter became 7 him and kids his age had to work to gather mica
rocks. The children only had a small bowl of soup and a piece of bread or potato.
Terezin was liberated on May 8, 1945 by the Soviet Army. Of the 15,000 children who passed
through Terezin, only about 125 survived. Peter was lucky enough to make it out of the camp along
with his mother, new father, and baby sister. After two years being in that terrible camp Peter and his
family arrived in America to start a new life. When Peter turned 11 he was able to attend school for
the first time. Peter Berlowitz is known as Peter Daniels, and he lives in Los Angeles, California. He
